You will immediately see a vast improvement over my last effort in Sept 2005. After consultation with FIGAS we have much more accurate postioning and maps for the FIGAS airstrips. This has also been facilitated by the use of Jim Keir's excellent terrain mesh. (he is currently improving this mesh even further)
Consequently, all the FIGAS airstrips, in the Falkland Islands, are far more accurate and much more detailed. This greatly improves the enjoyment, within a better impression of the real terrain. I highly recommend getting to know the Falkland Islands using these airstrips, which can provide interesting and enjoyable flying experience. All these strips exist in reality and are flown by the Britten Norman BN2 Islanders belonging to FIGAS (Falkland Island Government Air Service). They represent an important lifeline in the islands'communication and transport.
Given the parameters and limitations of FS9 this scenery is designed to be as accurate and fair a representation of the real thing as is possible. However, the limitations have caused us to use our imagination in some cases, and provide the best fit for the terrain mesh available. They should give a very reasonable impression of these airstrips and the're aernonautical attributes.
